ABJ Gold Book

ABJ Gold Book

All Grade 12 students at Archbishop Jordan Catholic High School that intend on taking part in the Graduation Ceremonies and Banquet are required to complete the GOLD BOOK.  The Gold Book is designed to be a tool to help ensure that students are not only on track to achieve their Alberta High School Diploma, but also to ensure that they have all the necessary courses that are required to pursue their individual desired post-secondary plans, whatever that might look like.
The Counsellors will meet with all Grade 12 students near the end of September to go over the process of what the Gold Book looks like and how they are to complete it.  They will receive their individual copy at this time.
The Gold Book is divided into subsections that cover:myPass AccountsCurrent Academic StatusCareer and Education Information SourcesPost-Secondary Application InformationIndividual Student PlansScholarship Information A current Resume
The Gold Book is easily able to be completed in 30 minutes.
Upon completion, students are required to book a one-on-one appointment with one of the Counsellors where we can look through the Gold Book contents together, evaluate that they are on track to Graduate (and if not implement a plan to ensure that all requirements can be met), and to review their Individual Student Plan to make sure that students have all the necessary academic prerequisites for their desired plan. The one-on-one conversation is so valuable to help make sure that students are prepared for what their life after High School at Jordan will look like!
If you have any questions about the Gold Book, please don't hesitate to connect with the Counsellors - Sara Glass at sarag@eics.ab.ca or Courtney St. Amand at courtney.stamand@eics.ab.ca or our Grade 12 Administrator, Greg Lakeman gregl@eics.ab.ca
